Programmable controller PRK0xx

Description and construction design:

The REGONIK PRK 0xx Programmable Regulators of Heating of the first generation are electronic, microprocessor controlled devices designated originally for automatic regulation of heating, ventilation, cooling and other corresponding functions in railway vehicles but they can be used for regulation of other appliances as well. These can be fed by the vehicle battery or an other source of direct voltage of 16V up to 64V. There is an effective and stable impulse source built in, feeding the electric circuits with necessary voltage. The feeding is resistant against overpole as well as against short-term overvoltage.

The first four analogue inputs of the regulator are measuring bridges for resistance thermometers with two- or three-conductor connection. The type of resistance thermometer (Pt100, Ni100), mode of connection and interval of measured temperatures are designed individually for each input according to the customer’s order of PRK 0xx Regulator. The fifth analogue input permits to order the required correction of the regulated temperature / usually 2°C/ by a continuous direct voltage of 0 to +10V against the common feeding pole. The eight digital inputs of high-level logics of 24V/48V permit to scan the singals from the external circuits of the control logics. The microprocessor with supporting circuits processes the input data according to the fixed programme designed individually after the customer’s order for each PRK 0xx Regulator. The eight outputs of the regulator are composed of eight output-microrelays each with a switch contact. The nominal feeding voltage of the whole regulator is determined by the nominal operation voltage of the output relays (usually 24 or 48V).

Each relay can have an individual outlet of feeding for exciting the coil by plus voltage. This permits easier adjusting of the PRK 0xx Regulator to the relay-contactor circuits, or to the circuits with double feeding voltage. The last two outputs (7,8) can be equipped with a microrelay with two switch contacts or two 12mA power sources for visual signalization by LED.

The feeder contacts are on the lower back side of the connected large basic board. They are either elastic WAGO contacts or, when it is necessary to disconnect the feeders frequently, WAGO connectors can be projected. The basic board of the regulator permits the possibility of permanent combination connections between the outputs, logical inputs and feeder contacts. These connections are to be individually designed for each PRK 0xx Regulator and assembled in course of manufacturing. The board has a six-point gripping in a fixed steel plate box. The surface of the box is finished by a dark synthetic paint.There is neither a control nor signalling element on the regulator. On the right side of each regulator, there is a 25-pole D-Sub connector for the REGONIK ST812 service terminal which is able to diagnose the regulation system with the PRK0xx Regulator. On the front side of the regulator, there are diagnostics instructions in user’s language as well as a dry zipper to attach the terminal.

The REGONIK PRK 0xx Programmable Regulators are due to the programmability and flexibly changeable construction designated for wide-ranging use. They permit easy and effective programming of new efficient regulation systems with direct control voltage of 24V or 48V for climate regulation in new or modernized passenger vehicles, as well as reconstruction of regulation systems of heating and ventilation in older types of passeger railway vehicles. The regulators are to be assebmled into a locked distributor or an other suitable object protecting it against damage.

The variety of REGONIK PRK 0xx Programmable Regulators and their designation:

PRK 01: The REGONIK PRK 01 Programmable Regulator is designated to control electric as well as steam heating and ventilation. It has been installed in passenger railway vehicles of the Slovak Republic Railways of YB/70 Aa, Ba types and derived types with VEB-MAB-Schkeuditz hot-air aggregate with control voltage of 24V. The regulator takes over the function of thermal protection of the aggregate if the regulation system is completed with the REGONIK DPR 01 memory-relay board with attachment.

PRK 011: The REGONIK PRK 011 Programmable Regulator of Heating is designated to control electric as well as steam heating and ventilation with control voltage of 24 V with the possibility of central correction of nominal temperature of +23°C by 2°C in passenger area. It has been installed in sleeping cars of the Slovak Republic Railways of YB/70 Bc type and in derived types with VEB- MAB- Schkeuditz hot-air aggregate. The regulator takes over the function of thermal protection of the aggregate if the regulation system is completed with the REGONIK DPR 01 memory-relay board with attachment.

PRK 012: The REGONIK PRK 012 Programmable Regulator of Heating is designated to control electric heating and ventilation with control voltage of 24 V with the possibility of central correction of nominal temperature of +23°C by 2°C in passenger area. It has been installed in modernized vehicles of The Czech Railways of Aee, Bee and Beer types with HAGENUK or VEB-MAB-Schkeuditz hot-air aggregates and adjusted vehicles of The Slovak Republic Railways of BD and Bte types with MAB hot-air aggregate. The MAB or HAGENUK Regulation Programme are to be chosen through connecting the address in cabeling. The memory relay and programme back up for the function of thermal protection of aggregate by the REGONIK system are parts of the regulator.

PRK 013: The REGONIK PRK 013 Programmable Regulator of Heating is designated to control electric and fuel oil heating and ventilation with control voltage of 24 V in railway vehicles of The Slovak Post with the VEB-MAB-Schkeuditz aggregate. The aggregate has an electric heat body and a heat exchanger with a small water circuit from the oil boiler.The regulator has the possibility of central correction of nominal temperature of +23°C by 2°C in the office area and memory relay and programme back up for the function of thermal protection of aggregate by the REGONIK system are parts of the regulator.

PRK 016: The REGONIK PRK 016 Programmable Regulator of Heating is designated to control heating, ventilation and cooling in large railway vehicles with control voltage of 24 V. It has been installed in modernized and comfortable MAV-vehicles of ARp 84-41 type. The regulator has the possibility of central correction of nominal temperature of +23°C by 2°C in passenger area and the memory relay and programme back up for the function of thermal protection of aggregate by the REGONIK system are parts of it. The regulator cares for the cooperation and diagnostics of the hot-air aggregate, which contains three electric heat bodies and cooling vaporizer with the condensing unit and central power supply.

PRK 017: Programovateľný regulátor kúrenia REGONIK PRK 017 je určený na riadenie elektrického kúrenia a vetrania s ovládacím napätím 24V s možnosťou centrálnej korekcie nominálnej teploty + 23°C o ± 2°C v priestore pre cestujúcich. Použitý je v upravených železničných vozňoch ČD , ŽSSK s teplovzdušným agregátom HAGENUK alebo VEB-MAB-Schkeuditz . Regulačný program MAB alebo HAGENUK sa vyberá zapojením adresy v kábeláži. Regulátor obsahuje aj pamäťové relé a programovú podporu pre funkciu teplotnej ochrany agregátu systémom REGONIK . Regulátor má možnosť riadiť funkciu TEMPEROVANIE a udržiavať vnútornú teplotu vzduchu medzi + 3°C až + 9°C.

PRK 02: The REGONIK PRK 02 Programmable Regulator of Heating is designated to control heating and ventilation in passenger vehicles of The Slovak Republic Railways of the Bt-type with control voltage of 48V. It controls the hot-air aggregate with three electric heat bodies and recirculating flap.

PRK 021: The REGONIK PRK 021 Programmable Regulator of Heating is designated to control electric heating and ventilation in modernized electric railway sets of The Slovak Republic Railways of the 560-type with control voltage of 48V. It controls the ceiling-hot-air aggregate and the floor direct emitting bodies in engine vehicles as well as in coupled vehicles.
