In designing the air conditioning we use regulators developed for and manufactured by our company. These regulators can be adjusted according to the customer´s requirements and requirements of the particular technical solution. In the same manner, it is necessary to adjust the air sensors, servomotors, various detectors and air elements. All of these units are designed in 3D CAD systems, where their effectivity is tested before the application alone and it is possible to constantly improve them during the course of development.
While finding a solution to the additional air conditioning of the M840 diesel units for Slovenské železnice (Slovak railways), it has been necessary to add an air conditioning unit to the original air system and to provide cooperation with the superior regulatory system, that takes care of heating in the area for passengers. At the same time, it takes care of keeping the engine of the driving vehicle at the proper temperature. It has been necessary to add new external air sensors, as well as sensors for the ceiling cooling channel. The regulator has gone through maximum programmatic adjustment to the superior regulator, to ensure their troublefree simultaneous operating.
The biggest challenge in finding a solution to the additional air conditioning of compartment carriages Aee-Bee of České dráhy (Czech railways) has been solving the distribution of the conditioned air in compartments. The cold air is brought in by a new ceiling air channel, that empties into a diffuser on the ceiling of a compartment. The possibility to individually correct the temperature in compartments is solved by electrical bodies of additional heating.
The original heating solution that made use of the air mixture chamber placed under the windows has been a target of constant criticism and needed to be modified or replaced. Because of the lack of space an alternative that avoids the function of the air mixture chamber has been chosen. The regulatory element for conditioned air has been developed specially for those carriages, where the pressure valve is present and the space for its application is extremely small. It has been labeled as a flat regulatory valve and its efficiency is surprisingly high. Its efficiency has been proven by field tests and measurements taken by a research institute, after installing it in a prototype carriage.
The best results in application of the air conditioning systems are achieved by overall reconstruction of the vehicle, where all elements of the system are redesigned. An example of this is an overall reconstruction of Bdt carriages of Slovak railways, where excellent results were reached by application of the new elements. A 36kW cooling unit with two compressors has been used as a cooling aggregate. The cooling air conduit is placed in the ceiling of the vehicle and is covered by lightning. The air conduits of heating used are compressive with partial mixing and are placed on the floor, under the windows. Because of using the massive luggage holders, the placing of interior sensors has been complicated. That´s why the active sensors, that absorb the measured air and thereby ensure the high accuracy of the measurement have been developed. The overall result of this simple solution is the efficient air conditioning with good response from the traveling public.
